Our GP partner, Doctor Erica Lee is retiring at the end of May 2019 – bringing to an end nearly 24 years working as a GP at Compass House Medical Centres. She joined the practice at our original premises in Bolton Street in 1995, before moving to our current purpose built King Street practice in 1999 as the practice expanded and evolved.
In this time Dr Lee has been involved in just about every aspect of health in our communities, from care and safeguarding of children to palliative care. More recently she has been heavily involved in training our GP Registrars - the GPs of the future - and of senior medical students. Dr Lee says “I will particularly miss so many of my patients who I have gotten to know over the last quarter of a century, and working with such a great team of friends and colleagues at Compass House.”
Dr Lee will be will be greatly missed by all us at the surgery, both staff and patients and we wish her all the best for her upcoming retirement.
We are pleased to announce that we have a new GP partner, Dr James Gunning, joining the practice in July. Dr Gunning will be familiar to many of you as he has worked at Compass House covering sessions as required for several years and we are delighted that he will be joining us permanently on a full time basis. All of Dr Lee’s patients will be transferred over to Dr Gunning in due course, but as with all of our patients you are free to see whichever GP you prefer /is available during the interim period and ongoing.
