Advanced Nurse Practitioner

kim connabeerI joined Compass House Medical Centres in 2010 as a practice nurse. I started my nursing career as registered nurse in 1989, then a registered midwife from 1991 and practiced as a community midwife for 20 years with Torbay Hospital.

Since joining the surgery, I have been able to develop my practice and now a senior practice nurse within the team, able to prescribe, and with a special interest in Diabetes and minor ailments.

I am currently undertaking a Master’s to be an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) due to complete in December 2018. I will be staying at Compass House Surgery, but in a different role, joining two other ANPs already practicing at the surgery offering on the day appointments for acute illnesses. I will continue to have a special interest in Diabetes and have regular Diabetic clinics.

Outside of work and study, I enjoy outside family life, dog walking, running, sailing, rowing and taking advantage of our lovely area.
